NOTES:
 
This EP was created for a music challenge I came up with called EPThirty. Rules are similar to those in RPM, Album-In-A-Day, NaNoWriMo, etc. You had to come up with an idea, put your crew together, then you had thirty days to make a 15-30 minute EP.

This EP was the first time Rick and I worked together despite knowing each other for 15 years. Worth the wait I guess!

Anyway, we took the name Secret Pizza Party from a scene in Wet Hot American Summer.

INVITATION - Tried to imagine this track as if the Secret Pizza Party was some shadowy cabal you somehow got an invite to. Our good friend Quint Viskup, who I've known for 20 some years and who has recorded pretty much every band in Lethbridge, did the monologue. 

BAM BAM - The first track we worked on. I played the bass, Rick made the loops. I feel like the first verse is one of the strongest I've ever laid down, and the second is the weakest. Maybe you disagree, who knows?

AMISH SPEEDBOAT - I had the first verse since like 2019. It was good, but didn't really fit until here. Rick wrote the hook. Usually we'll send lyrical ideas back and forth through FB messenger. NOTE WITHIN THE NOTE: What the hell is an Amish Speedboat? Some kinda metaphor I guess.

YELLOW BOOK - I got this tiny 3-1/2 x 5″yellow notepad from ... somewhere, can't remember. Anyway, I tried to write verses out every day on my bus ride to work, probably around 2018-2019. There were pages and pages of tiny cramped writing -- ridiculous verses that made zero sense. This was my attempt to get them all out on tape.

ANDY - This is the scene from Wet Hot American Summer that we, uh "liberated" our name from. Paul Rudd is a genius.
